Recommended for: Camping. Although if you don’t have a car I’d recommend staying in a hostel/hotel instead.
Value for money: 2.5/5
For around $40 AU a night, two people with a car and tent can pick a spot on the terraced undergrowth of this campsite. Reception is located at the top of the hill, above Verona. Once checked in, they’ll say you can park your car at the bottom of the campsite and give you their version of a well-detailed map. However, once you have the map in your hands and head-off back down the hill from whence you came, you may as well act like Frodo from Lord of the Rings because you’ll soon realize you’re on a magical-mystery-adventure to find the secret gateway that gains you entrance. Once inside, the campground is clean, shady and free wireless internet is available if you climb a shit-load of stairs and beg reception for the password.
Average facilities, hot-water at specific times, wireless internet – only at the top of the property and “windows” based. no restaurant, market is very basic. No easy power source.
Great location (once you find the secret-car-parking-entrance) because you can walk into Verona, and that’s why you’re here.
The staff were annoyed whenever you asked them for something, but they always ended up delivering.
